The world famous Spetsnaz of the GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate) are the Soviet military’s elite ground troops. They are selected for their physical strength and endurance as well as their intelligence. Spetsnaz training is a brutal affair molding above average soldiers into first rate special operations troops. Capable of toppling nation states or punishing the Soviet Union’s enemies, there is no place on earth that the Spetsnaz cannot reach and take if given enough time. Often working in tandem with regular army troops or Naval and KGB Spetsnaz, GRU Spetsnaz troops are sent on the most important, sensitive, and difficult missions.
