Boxcar grew up the son of an Oklahoma roughneck and was a high school football star and academic scholar. He worked as a rig hand near his home town of Enid, Oklahoma for three years before joining the Marines in 1973 where he eventually joined Force Recon. He is clever and quick witted, but friendly once one has gained his trust. Boxcar has an additional specialization in Angolan Military doctrine and tactics, often disguising himself as a member of Angolan Special Forces liaison as a cover identity when infiltrating Soviet instillations.

A noted fan of classic county music (Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, etc.).
